Hugely innovative: the new Aga Intelligent Management System (AIMS) | From April 2007, the much-praised Electric Aga – which runs on a standard 13-amp connection – will be offered with the innovative Aga Intelligent Management System (AIMS) as standard. The system means you will now be able to adjust the temperature of your Aga to suit your lifestyle.
AIMS will allow you to run your Aga on a default setting, meaning it will quickly rise to cooking temperature twice a day – at breakfast and dinner – with a lower setting during the rest of the day. After use, the system will automatically step down to a low-energy 'slumber' mode.
But the system also allows even more flexibility and control. Programmed using a TV-style, battery-operated remote control, AIMS also means you will have the option to override the default setting and instead choose two alternative 'events' per day, at times of their choosing, for example perhaps in time for brunch and supper on a Saturday and at lunchtime and late evening on a Sunday.
The system can also be set to 'holiday' mode, which will keep the Aga on either the lowest energy setting (or off) during the selected dates, before automatically restarting in time for your family's arrival back home. This setting allows for full day/month/year selection to allow for longer holidays and any program setting can easily be overridden by the simple pressing of a button on the Aga itself.
The new Aga Intelligent Management System is now available as standard on all 13-amp heat-storage Electric Agas, from £7,200 including VAT.
