Solid fuel back on the agenda: Solid-fuel Rayburn Heatranger 200 Series |
Concerns over dwindling resources and a greater knowledge of the impact our high-tech lives have on the environment, have seen many of us move toward more traditional ways of living, putting solid fuel firmly back on the agenda.
Wood is considered a sustainable, renewable and carbon-neutral fuel.
Rayburn solid-fuel models run on a range of natural and manufactured solid mineral fuels, as well as a variety of wood-derived products, which have the advantage of a zero carbon rating and minimal emissions.
Aga has for some time been looking at its solid-fuel Rayburn cookers and the move toward sustainable living has caused the company to relaunch the range - making it perfectly relevant for life in today's busy home.
There are four solid-fuel models in the Rayburn range - one cooker-only model, one which provides cooking and hot water and two which provide central heating and hot water.
All are capable of burning wood and seasoned timber and two have a new wood grate facility.
The newly relaunched Rayburns - which all have an SFW suffix - have the classic good looks and styling that are quintessentially Rayburn and are available in Cream, Black, Pewter, British Racing Green, Claret, and Dark Blue.
All models comply with building regulations for new-build homes and are HETAS listed.
Other recommended fuels are smokeless coal, bituminous coal and peat.
