It's been a couple of weeks since I've managed to put pen to paper - or indeed mouse to mouse mat - as things have been hugely hectic with the official AGA 300th anniversary celebrations.
It all started in Coalbrookdale in Shropshire, when AGA devotees from around the country came together for a day of history, heritage and spotty cakes. As you can see from the picture, huge fun was had by all.

Next there was the official AGA party in London, where the fabulous polka dot AGA, designed by Emma Bridgewater, got a hugely warm reception, as did Emma's speech in which she said the only collaboration that would have made her happier would have been one with Emmy Lou Harris.
The party, held at the AGA shop in Knightsbridge, was enormous fun and included presentations by William McGrath, chief executive of AGA-Rangemaster, of commemorative Coalbrookdale cooking pots to Emma and Mary Berry.

And when I turned on my phone the next morning, I had a vast number of texts asking for phone numbers of people our guests had met. That, for me at least, is always one sign of a successful party.
The food was cooked by the divine Mark David and was utterly delicious and the mojitos, I'm led to believe because I didn't get a moment to enjoy one - were great.
Everyone can get involved with the 300th anniversary celebrations as there are a number of events going on at AGA shops throughout the country.
Next weekend (October 9-10) sees events themed around cooking from the land, where you'll be able to learn how to get the best out of your AGA when it comes to cooking vegetables. There'll also be a competition with children urged to design their own AGA.
