Cosy in a winter wonderland
In Norfolk we still have snow on the ground a full two-and-a-half weeks since this dreadful weather set in. Frankly, I'm rather bored of it. It's all very pretty for a few days - and it was undeniably nice having snow on the ground at Christmas, when the children loved sledging on the farm - but everything soon grinds to a halt and that's not good at the start of the year.
We were rather lucky in only having intermittent power cuts - other parts of Norfolk had no power for up to five days. Rather smugly, I don't mind it too much when the power goes off, though, as our AGA keeps us cosy and there's something rather romantic about cooking by candlelight.
It's this time of year that the AGA really comes into its own. Every AGA owner will tell you how suddenly the kitchen fills up and how they cook lots of food for neighbours who are without power.
