| Dawn Roads demonstrates how to make a deliciously simple pasta dish on the Aga - great food, no fuss
Ingredients Pasta (rigatoni) Butter Garlic Chestnut mushroom Shittake mushrooms Oyster mushrooms Closed button mushrooms Parmesan cheese Parsley Crème fraîche
Method Boil a pan of water and add the pasta, return to the boil. Then place in the simmering oven. Cook the pasta following the instructions on the packet.
Mushroom Sauce Cut the mushrooms into pieces or sections. Warm some butter and garlic in a pan and then add the mushrooms.
Once the mushrooms are cooked, finish the sauce by adding some crème fraîche (this can be half-fat if you would prefer).
If the pasta is not quite ready keep the sauce warm.
Drain the pasta. Add some chopped parsley to the mushroom sauce. Stir the sauce and mix into the pasta.
It’s ready to serve with a shaving of Parmesan and a sprinkling of parsley.
Hints & Tips The pasta here does not need to be boiled at a vigorous boil, cooking in the simmering oven is easy and convenient.
