All carcasses are hung in the traditional way before being butchered at local abattoirs, then vacuum-packed in a purpose-built facility on the farm. The meat is then packed into polystyrene chill boxes and delivered nationwide overnight.

Langley Chase lambs grow slowly and naturally on the herb rich organic pastures of this small Wiltshire farm, producing a distinctive, delicious and tender organic meat.
The lambs are hung and butchered to each customer's requirement by a Soil Association accredited butcher.
Winner of the Best Lamb 2003 Organic Food Awards and subject to many top chefs and food writers' accolades of "the best lamb in Britain".
As all the lamb is traditionally hung, you will need to allow about 14 days between ordering and delivery/collection. Delivery costs £18 or you can collect by prior arrangement.

River Cottage is all about food, where it comes from and why that matters. The purpose is to promote a better understanding of the nature and origins of what we eat. The importance of food integrity is the key.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and the River Cottage team are champions of the 'eat local' philosophy, which often means from the River Cottage garden or farm!
Most importantly, they want to spread the word, and hence River Cottage HQ, where you can spend practical days with the River Cottage team covering subjects such as pig, lamb, mutton butchery, learning about Game, foraging in the nature's larder, fishing and learning how to prepare and cook your catch, building and cooking in your own clay oven, and many more... as well as evening events, seasonal feasts and special events. They also run events for parents and children to enjoy together.
Vouchers available for events and merchandise.

The company was founded by friends Rachel and Jeanette out of a passion for slightly unusual meat - originally ostrich and wild boar.

Anne Petch - appalled at intense farming methods in the early 1970s - began producing as much of her own produce on her small farm as possible.
This led to an interest in rearing traditional domestic pigs from breeds that were slowly dying out.
Realising the best way to secure the business' future was to develop a sustainable market for them, they converted an old dairy building into a butchery and launched a home delivery service.
Deliveries are Tuesday-Friday by courier, with a standard charge for all orders.
