Brook Hall is a Grade II-listed, Queen Anne townhouse located in the pretty market town of Winslow, close to Milton Keynes and Buckingham. Owned by Stephen and Joanna Bulmer, Brook Hall run one-day cookery courses for amateur cooks of all ages and abilities.
Head Chef Stephen Bulmer was previously Chef/Director of the Raymond Blanc Cookery School at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and has worked at Michelin-level restaurants all over the world. Despite being a top chef, Steve is completely un-scary and quite an entertainer. His enthusiastic teach style is down-to-earth and practical - peppered with jokes, the odd song and humorous anecdotes from the restaurant world.
The Aga course at Brook Hall brings together Steve's skills as a top restaurant chef with the extensive cooking facilities offered by an Aga. Taking Aga cooking a step further than traditional roasts, stews and baking; Steve will show you how to create sophisticated dinner party food ranging from seared scallops on the hotplate, to wonderful brioche in the roasting oven and fashionable 24-hour 'slow' cooking in the cooler ovens.
As well as great recipes, Steve will give you restaurant tips for preparing quick dishes and cooking ahead of time, so you can create fabulous meals with the minimum of stress. There are a maximum of 20 students on an Aga course, so you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Special dietary requirements can be incorporated in all Brook Hall cookery courses, providing these are advised at time of booking. Three guest bedrooms are also available.
'Open' gift vouchers for all Brook Hall cookery courses (recipient chooses course and date, valid one year) are available on the website and make a great gift. Other courses included Seasonal Dinner Parties, Fish & Shellfish, Meat & Poultry, Stocks & Sauces, Flavours of the Orient, Italian Cookery, Barbecue Cookery, Delicious Desserts, Carving Courses and Children's Courses.
