Fired Earth is renowned for beautiful, practical tiles
From stone cut from quarries the Romans knew to slate from Africa and South America, porcelain tiles, and handmade terracotta that's left to dry in the Mediterranean sunshine, Fired Earth stocks an inspiring range of floor tiles.
Natural stone has a timeless appeal and, for many, there's no substitute for 'the real thing'. Fired Earth has several beautiful limestone and travertine collections, including Old Tuscan Travertine and Cathedral Limestone.
This beautiful limestone is reminiscent of the ecclesiastical floors from which it gets its name.
In the best possible way, it looks as if it has been walked on for centuries, with subtle tones and softly tumbled edges.
Available in Classic or the warmer tones of Antique, there are four formats to choose from.
In addition to its stone tile ranges, Fired Earth has two pebble mosaic ranges, including Reefbay Mosaics.
These mosaics are handcrafted from split pebbles and are tumbled to give them incredibly soft surfaces that feel wonderful underfoot and are perfect for bathrooms and wet rooms.
The mosaics are double-meshed to ensure easy installation and they feature an interlocking system that has been cleverly designed to eliminate grout lines.
The 30 x 30 cm sheets are available in black, sand and white, as well as in white diamond, black diamond and blend designs.
Border pieces are available, as are pre-boxed panel sets. Each panel (designs include Black Diagonal and Sand Cross) consists of eight sheets and can be set into stone, slate or ceramic tiles to create a striking accent feature.
Slate is very versatile and the Fired Earth range includes everything from rugged Slate Flagstones that have a real sense of history about them, to crisp and contemporary Urban Slate.
This beautiful slate will add an architectural dimension to any interior and is available in Grey and Black.
Terracotta is undergoing a resurgence in popularity and Fired Earth has a diverse range of terracotta flooring.
Handmade pre-sealed terracotta maintains all the rustic appeal of traditional terracotta but has the added convenience of having been sealed.
Reclaimed terracotta from Europe is very much in keeping with the trend for all things recycled and each tile is subtly different, varying from rich red to deep ochre.
For something truly different, handmade Black Terracotta is made from a blend of classic earth and black earth and looks spectacular in both contemporary and traditional settings.
Innovations in production techniques and the fact that it's very hardwearing and low maintenance mean that porcelain flooring is becoming incredibly popular.
Products such as Fired Earth's Travertino (available in Crema, Classic and White) are designed to look amazingly like natural travertine, and come complete with unfilled holes and veins.
The Moderna range has all the subtlety of Italian stone, while Terrano porcelain tiles and their complementary mosaics are very much inspired by nature.
