Ian and Pauline work with a designer for changes
"When we moved into the house we lived with the decoration in the bathroom for quite a few years," says Ian. But when our youngest son went to university it brought on the desire to decorate again.
"My wife, Pauline, looked around all the bathroom and tile stores at what was available. She'd been aware of Fired Earth for some time and loved their bathroom range.

Inspirational: Fired Earth mood board |
"Ellie, the Fired Earth Home Designer, came round to visit us and to listen to what we were trying to achieve. She was really helpful and went away to produce a wonderful 'mood board'. This was a work of art and worth every penny of the design fee. It inspired us and gave us the confidence to push ahead with our ideas."

Warm and inviting: Ian and Pauline's new bathroom definitely makes an impact |
"They wanted their bathroom to be warm, inviting, a bit different and to make an impact. While they already had their roll-top bath they wanted to go for some contrasting and more contemporary pieces, so they chose to put a wonderful wall of Mother of Pearl oyster mosaic tiles behind it creating a fabulously opulent feeling in the room.
"They used simple matt cream tiles from our architecture range on the wall running behind their basin and loo and dressed it up using more oyster mosaic tiles.
"They also used contemporary glacier taps with their more traditionally styled basin. They were impressed with the prices and the quality and I'm really thrilled with the design and the way it's knitted together so successfully, but most importantly how they're so happy with the results".

Fabulously opulent: Mother of Pearl oyster mosaic tiles from Fired Earth |
"Now, of course, it gives my wife, myself and all the family a great deal of pleasure - not to mention our cat, Scott, who regularly stows away for hours in the bathroom airing cupboard."
